3 Essential Travelling Tips for First-timer in Seoul

As the technology is getting more and more developed these days, I believe that most of the people will do some research before they travel to other countries.

I feel that I’m quite lucky because my boyfriend had one month internship in Seoul. Therefore, I’m here to share some handy travel tips that he planned for me! ☺

1. Get yourself a prepaid SIM Card/ Wifi Egg

In my experience, you definitely need to buy a prepaid SIM card because it provides the data service. Frankly, it really brings more convenience for visitors. For example,

As you can see above, you can search google maps immediately if you get lost or having trouble to find the route at subway station. Google maps also provides the route options if you’re on low budget. So, just follow the instruction then you will reach your destination safe and sound.
Finding route can waste your time and it may affects your travel time unconsciously.

Furthermore, you can share your foods, beautiful scenery on social media immediately. I believe that the people nowadays like to share their things on their like ... Snapchat, Instagram’s story or live! (I’m the one too haha :P )

WHERE TO GET: You can get it at airport or any convenience store.
Even Seoul provides free wifi, but it is hard to connect sometimes.

By the way, I prefer prepaid SIM card if you are travelling with 2-3 people; if you are travelling with more than 5 people, wifi egg is more recommended.

REMEMBER!!! Make sure your phone is unlocked before you access the SIM card.

2. Get yourself a Transportation Card

In Seoul, T-money card is highly recommended. What is T-money card? T-money card is a transportation card for public buses, subways, taxis and convenience stores that accept T-money as a form of transaction, but we mostly used for transportation. This rechargeable T-money card will make your journey super convenient!

I personally do not prefer travellers to buy a Single Journey Ticket unless you are going there to do some business stuffs.

WHERE TO GET IT/ TOP IT: Any convenience stores and subway stations.

If you like to collect cute stuff, there are cute version of T-money such as Line Friends, Kakao Friends, Hello Kitty, etc.

This is our T-money card (Kakao friends collection )

3. Bring along with your Passport EVERY TIME!

You must bring along with your passport every time! Why? As we all know, Seoul is a shopping paradise and you cannot visit without drinking/ trying their beer (especially, soju and makgeolli) right?  So, passport is very important for shopping because we can get taxes free.

In our experience, we had met this situation that we couldn't purchase Soju because we didn't bring passport in Sinchon. It's really quite disappointing at the moment :( Thus, remember to bring along passport ALL THE TIME.

So, these are all the essential tips for you guys! Hope that it would help and thanks for spending your time to read my blog! :D Wish y'all have a nice trip ❤
